As part of the ITP VLIR-UOS program, we organized a Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence workshop at Karume Institute for Science & Technology (KIST). Together with local students, lecturers and professionals, we focuse on building practical skills in modern web development, TypeScript, Node.js, and hands-on AI integration.
The training combined theory, guided exercises, and real project work. Each day introduced new topics and gave participants room to immediately apply what they learned.
We introduce the chatgpt API and demonstrated how to integrate AI into real applications. Participants built their own AI-powered chat client, bringing together everything they had learned throughout the week.
