Last week we gave an intensive, practical training in applied AI to local people, from Karume Institute of Technology, Zanzibar State University and Zanzibar University. Ardhi University was also present with three participants, sponsored by the running ITP at KIST. Muni University and Makerere University of Uganda were also present there, sponsored by Erasmus+ KA2 CBHE AHUMAIN.
In addition to teachers and scientists from the universities, there were participants from Let’s Venture, Neurotech Africa, Innovent Consult and Sahara Ventures, all people from the labor market. From Zanzibar’s governmental institutions there was also the Ministry of Blue Economy, Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Agency, Cube Innovation Hub Zanzibar, and the E-government Agency.
We were happy with this turnout, which means we could really go in depth and have a highly impactful event. The training was technical and specific, avoiding staying high-level on the subject.
All participants were excited and asked for follow-up trainings, as these trainings are not easy to attend to.
We also took our time here to work on meaningful international strategy on exchanges of students and teachers and international projects, to strengthen all our initiatives and to provide opportunities for development and knowledge transfer to as many people as possible.
In total we had 33 participants.
